* Forte da Cruz was built at the end of the s. XIX, next to Tamariz beach in Estoril, according to a project by the Italian architect Cesare Ianz, in a medieval style, on the ruins of the old fort of St.º António da Cruz, built in the context of the Restoration War of Portuguese independence (1640-1668), integrating the 1st line of fortifications on the Tagus bar, which stretched from Cabo da Roca to the Belém Tower, to defend the city of Lisbon. It is classified as a Monument of Public Interest (2023).
