2007 Conservation and Restoration

Conservation of an Aesculapius Altar, built in honour of the Greek-Roman god of medicine and healing, an altar in limestone, from the collection of the Collegiate Treasury of Santiago* of the Church of Santiago do Cacém (13thc), classified as National Monument (1910), exhumed from excavations carried out in the extensive Roman archaeological site of Miróbriga (Alentejo), listed as property of public interest (1940).

* This Collegiate Treasure of Santiago is the main centre of the Sacred Art Museum of Santiago de Cacém [1986], temporarily installed in the Mother Church of Santiago de Cacém.
