2019 Preventive Conservation

Elaboration of a previous report regarding the future intervention to be carried out in the masonry existing in the governor's building and in the casemates of the Fortress of São Filipe*. Work done by Sandra Alves, stone conservator-restorer.

* Classified as National Monument (1933) it was erected in the reign of D. Felipe I (1580-1598), according to a project of a modern fortification, to defend part of the Portuguese coast, by the architect and military engineer Filippo Terzi (1520-1597). Adapted to historical inn from the second half of the 20th c.
