EPPIC - Industrial and Scientific Heritage

2025 Event

Participation in the presentation of EPPIC - Study and Conservation of Industrial and Scientific Heritage, designed and conceived by NOVA-FCT, through three research units: Interuniversity Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHTC), Laboratory of Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering and Radiation Physics (LIBPhys-UNL) and VICARTE - Glass and Ceramics for the Arts. This event was held on January 28, 2005 in the Auditorium of the NOVAFCT Library.

The proposed path of research aims to promote and disseminate, in an integrated manner, studies, initiatives, and training aimed at enhancing and preserving industrial and scientific heritage, seeking to consolidate an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. EPPIC also aims to bring together professionals from different disciplines - Heritage Sciences, Social Sciences, Conservation and Restoration, Physics, and Chemistry - dedicated to the study and preservation of this heritage.

The following entities are part of EPPIC's partners: Museums and Monuments of Portugal, National Museum of Natural History and Science, Municipality of Seixal, Museum of Lisbon - Milling Factory, NOVA-FCT Executive Education, History Territories and Communities and Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People and the Planet, University of Coimbra, NOVAFCSH Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Aboim Sande Lemos Foundation, Casa Hermes Foundation, Neon- Art Conservation, Cinemateca Portuguesa- Cinema Museum and Archeofactu.
