Sea of silver, encompassing the globe

2009 Creation

Contemporary jewellery collection, called "Silver Sea", inspired by the decorative motifs of some pieces of furniture, tapestries and decorative objects that comprise the exhibition*, produced by Smithsonian Institution - Encompassing the Globe: Portugal and the World in 16th and 17th centuries.

* This exhibition, featured temporarily at National Museum of Ancient Art, Lisbon [2009], after having been at the Freer and Sackler Gallery, Washington [2007] and at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels [2007-08], was dedicated to the Portuguese maritime expansion in 16th and 17th centuries and the mixed race effects spread throughout Europe.
