2007 Conservation and Restoration

With the renovation of the laboratorio chimico of the new National Museum of Natural History and Science, in Lisbon, recovered in its original 19thc. design, a conservation program was done in a significant set (c.100) of scientific devices of metal*, wood and ceramics, namely:

  • Alembic, iron alloy, copper alloy and ink.
  • Carré apparatus, iron alloy and wood.
  • Colorimeter, iron alloy, copper alloy and glass.
  • Reaction vessel, iron alloy, copper alloy and glass.
  • Polarimeter, Fe, Cu, wood, glass, wires, paint, varnish.
  • Presses, wood, iron, copper, textiles, paint, varnish.
  • Hand pumps, iron alloy, copper and wood alloy.
  • Gasometers, iron alloy, copper alloy and glass.
  • Bunsen burners.
  • Air pumps.
  • Ovens and grills, Fe, Cu, stoneware and paint.
  • Vacuum and pneumatic machines.
  • Greenhouses, iron alloy, glass, ceramics, paint.
  • Scales, Fe, Cu, glass, stone, varnish.
  • Basins, ceramic.
  • Test tube holders, iron alloy, copper alloy.
  • Projection lanterns, iron, copper and wood.
  • Prisms, Fe, Cu, wood, glass, paint and varnish.
