Conservation and restoration of a significant ensemble of surgical, gynaecological and hospital usage devices, from the personal collection of Dr. João Francisco Dias [1927-55], a local doctor and surgeon benefactor in Alcoutim (Algarve).

  • Diagnostic kit (handle, otoscope, speculum (4), larynx illuminator, laryngoscopy mirrors (2), ophthalmoscope and lamp).
  • Tweezers (5) (Doyen, Museux, Pean, Kocher).
  • Boxes (5) for thermometer, syringes, sterilisation, dressings.
  • Containers (2), boards (3), syringes (4), bottles (6), cloths (4).
  • Sphygmomanometers (3), forceps (3), retractors (2), anoscope.
  • Uterine curettes (3), vaginal speculum (2), vaginal valves (2).
  • Scalpel with blade, pelvimeter, mirror cable, stylus, scissor.
  • Needle holder, support, mortar, jet pump.
