Participation in the installation of the second Museum Centre of the current Cultural Complex of Levada de Tomar, opened in November 2021, in the field of conservation and restoration of an ensemble of equipment, tools and utensils used in foundry, metalwork and grinding workshops that worked in the former Tomarense Foundry* (c. 200 objects). The different iron preparation, production and finishing cycles can be found in this centre**.
* Fundição Tomarense, the oldest steel industry in Tomar, finished the work on the last day of 2005. Later, the Municipality of Tomar acquired the assets (ovens, molds, tools, etc.), including the archive with more than 100 years of existence. This foundry was considered by specialists as “a temple of industrial archaeology”. On the building's facade, a sign indicated the name of the company (Adriano Cotralha e Filhos) and explained what was done there: "Casting of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, casting of gray cast iron up to 2 tonnes, bronze and aluminium". There everything was produced: from lamps, candlesticks and railings to salamanders and sewer covers. ©
