The conservation of the gilt silver bowl belonging to the Foundation of Casa de Bragança is described. The conservation assessment revealed the mineralization of the silver alloy, a process that compromises the stability of the bowl. The conservation aimed to create conditions to maximize the decorative elements interpretation, by removing degraded organic compounds and corrosion products developed over the gilt parts, and by creating a solution to minimize the handling of the bowl through a packaging system for handling and transportation.
