Chapel of St. Amaro, 1549, Lisboa

2017 Preventive Conservation

Preliminary study to prepare a future project for the rehabilitation of the Chapel of St. Amaro* (Alcântara - Lisboa).

* Renaissance Chapel, dated 1549, classified as a National Monument (1910), features a central plan consisting of the main chapel and a circular nave, flanked by the sacristy on the right and by the old dispatch house on the left, preceded by three forged iron gates (18c.) and by an atrium or semicircular galilee, which gives its originality, reinforced by poly-chrome tiling (late 17c.) of Mannerist and Proto-Baroque composition, which frames and highlights architectural elements (in www. cm-lisboa.pt).
