* The Eugénio de Almeida Foundation is a private, public-benefit institution based in Évora, created by Vasco Maria Eugénio de Almeida in 1963. Their objectives during this period were in the recreation of the Carthusian Monastery as a centre of spiritual life, in the construction of the Oratory of St. Joseph aimed at the school and professional training of children, and in the creation, in 1964, and maintenance, in collaboration with the Society of Jesus, of ISESE - the Higher Institute of Economics and Social Sciences of Évora, which initiated the restoration of the University of Évora and trained professionals and senior managers in public and private administration. Over the years, the Foundation has offered a regular program of initiatives centered around the dissemination of contemporary art and music, the promotion of knowledge, reflection and debate of ideas, and training. The preservation and enhancement of heritage, as well as the qualification of volunteers, have been priority areas of the Foundation's work in service to the community. ©
