Conservation and restoration of some metallic artefacts exhumed in archaeological excavations carried out in the ancient cemetery of St Jorge' s Church, in Sarilhos Grandes, a place on lands belonging to the Order of Saint James of the Sword, within the scope of the SAND Project: "Sarilhos Grandes between Two Worlds - historical, archaeological and bio-anthropological study of a riverside population", following a protocol signed between the University of Coimbra (UC) and the Municipality of Montijo.

  • Fragments (4) and earrings (2) in silver alloy
  • Jet - gemstone (?) (2), glass/glass paste (4) and fish (2) beads
  • Sequin in gilded silver alloy (?)
  • Ring and fragments (3) of rings in copper alloy
  • Buttons/beads (9) in bone
  • Various fragments of worked thread
