Royal Galliots

Contemporary Jewellery
This collection, which includes pieces in silver, silver and leather, and silver and textile, found its inspiration in the sleek shapes of ship prows and sterns, as well as the pictures and paintings of animals placed on the stems and helms of Royal Galliots and Galleons from the Navy Museum (Lisboa), in particular:

  • D. João V’s Galliot, known as the Big Galliot [1728]
  • D. José I’s Galliot, known as the Small Galliot [1753]
  • Lisbon Customs Officer’s Galliot [1768]
