Monte da Lua is a diverse collection based on a variety of ornamental motifs for stones and gems, rose-windows and portal ornamentation found in the palaces and convents of Sintra:
- Pena National Palace, designed by the Baron von Eschwege [1839], for D. Fernando II, king consort and Duke of Saxe-Coburgo-Gotha;
- Monserrate Palace, designed by James Knowles Jr. for Francis Cook, Viscount of Monserrate [1858]
- Monastary of Capuchos, founded by D. Álvaro de Castro [1560], formerly inhabited by Franciscan friars.
